Wilier Tenerife (The Shop)
The story of Wilier Tenerife goes back to 1989 when a passionate cyclist from Granadilla decided to spread the love of cycling in Canary Islands and opened a small shop called Ciclocenter. Being one of the first bike shops in the Canarias, the shop was quickly locally known and even the tourists were surprised by the standard of the shop and quality material on a worldwide level, which at the time was very uncommon. By helping Tenerife grow to be a hot cycling destination, the shop flourished and made the choice to focus on one bike brand only, one filled with passion for the sport and attention to perfection. As being one of the first shops, it naturally chose to team up with one of the first bike brands – the Wilier Triestina from Italy, a brand which started in 1906 and created some of the most respected and most innovative bike design. With time, Ciclocenter changed its name to BiciSport and became one of the biggest dealers of Wilier bikes, known in Tenerife as the “Wilier Shop”. In present day, the shop presents itself as Wilier Tenerife and brings Wilier bikes not only to customers who wish to keep one but also to newcomers who just want to try one and tourists who want to rent it and enjoy the unique cycling routes here in Tenerife. Still to this day, both Wilier Tenerife and Wilier Triestina keep to be family-centered and spread the passion of cycling to new hearts.

Wilier Triestina (The Brand)
Wilier was created in 1906 thanks to the idea of a trader from Bassano, Pietro Dal Molin, of building bicycles on his own account. Based in Bassano del Grappa, he became successful by keeping up with the increasing demand for bicycles and determined to set up a professional team captained by the triestin Giordano Cottur, well-known for succeding during the Bassano-Monte Grappa lap for amateurs. Because of the common feeling of uneasiness about the fate of Trieste, Dal Molin decided to associate the name of this julian town to that of his own firm. In 1945 the Wilier Triestina was born, distinguished by its red copper-coloured bicycles, which later became an authentic trade-mark. In 1947 Wilier bought up a promising young cyclist: Fiorenzo Magni, who found out the right system to become a great protagonist of Italian cycling by winning the Tour of Flanders and Giro d’Italia in 1948. Nowadays the glorious story of this firm and of its copper-coloured jewel lives again thanks to the Gastaldello brothers from Rossano Veneto, who bought the Wilier Triestina mark in 1969, proud to bring again great favour to one of the best known Italian cycle houses and providing teams with their bicycles. The ultimate glory was in September 2008, when Ballan won the World Road Championship in Varese on Wilier, just ahead of his teammate Cunego. In the last decade Wilier Triestina continues to increase its presence in the international market. Those who own a Wilier Triestina know they didn’t choose just any bike. The symbol of the halberd is part of the history of cycling. We never stopped combining the most advanced know-how with the ingenuity and originality. Because we don’t just build bikes; we create them. The development of a new model begins with a drawing on paper, and then after countless tests, it finishes with the utilization of the most advanced materials and technological innovations. Wilier Triestina’s style is the perfect balance between tradition and innovation. But it also stands for safety and reliability when performing at the highest levels. The victories of our professional athletes are a testament to that. Discover the full story
